The diversity exposed to me at an early age left indelible images of sights, sounds, and characters. Traveling with my parents to other states and countries put me in a private school for girls in England where I became enamored with Shakespeare, Dickens, and Austen among many other authors. My goal at a young age to write was not to be realized until late in my life.
I toyed with the idea of writing and started to write short stories and articles. I loved it but wanted fiction. When finally a few stories and articles were published I took my goal seriously and enrolled in creative writing classes at UCLA
With all the years of experiences and people I encountered along the way of living I had a store house in which to draw from for my novels. My first attempt I trashed as it sounded more like a business letter. I took early retirement from my work and moved to a small town and purchased an old house then settled to write.
Age has not diminished the volume of drama from my life but has enhanced it to share through my stories and characters. From fencing in England, racing cars in California, jet setting across the country, modeling, pulling myself from emotional trauma, struggling to succeed with odds against me, I have used these to excite my characters and novels. I have lived through history and intend to use it as a spark igniting my writing.
